Tours Often Sell Out In Advance
Those arranging for a private tour often select our public tour routes, but then tap into our event planning expertise and local relationships to request that we customize the route to suit the needs of the group. For example, parties can be planned in one venue, highlighting multiple ethnic plates, allowing for additional socilization time and eliminating walking. Or, transportation via bus can be provided to travel to multiple ethnic neighborhoods or to end the tour with a special treat of custard or bowling.
Besides our standard public routes, we offer several additional options that can be built onto the experience to create unique experiences for private groups, including:
Cooking Tips & Techniques Classes
Learn tips and techniques of cooking with spices with a private class taught in a demonstration kitchen. Or, learn from representatives of a local chocolate company about how their famed beans are transformed into some of the world's most delicious and expensive chocolate with class topics including, "Cooking with Chocolate," "Chocolate and Wine."
Factory Tours
Tour a local pizza factory complete with a tour of the plant and slice of fresh pan pizza; tour Wisconsin’s first distillery since prohibition; or, tour Wisconsin's first artisan meat manufacturer mastering the art of dry curing. All located in downtown Milwaukee!
Green-Friendly “Farm & Table” Tours
Tour an urban farm in Milwaukee to see their growing methods hard at work; worms eating waste, fish fertilizing plants, and honeybees pollinating the neighborhood. Afterwards, travel to Milwaukee's unique farmer- and chef-owned restaurant to sample the harvest that unfolds each season.
Beer, Brats and Bowling Tour
Sample all of Milwaukee’s traditions with an opportunity to duck pin bowl in the only remaining alley in Wisconsin and also visit to the first distillery in Wisconsin since prohibition or a local microbrewery. Visit three of Milwaukee’s ethnic neighborhoods to eat brats, cheese and custard, and ‘schlemiel, schlemazel’ with Fonzie. If desired, dancing with abandon as the tubas tube and the concertinas concert at a German Beer Hall can be arranged to complete your experience.
Progressive Lunches/Day in Milwaukee Ethnic Adventure
Enjoy a progressive lunch in which we will provide history of Milwaukee's immigrant tastes by highlighting three ethnic restaurants in downtown Milwaukee during a 3-course meal (appetizer/salad, entree and dessert - each at a different location, customizable). The tour can conclude with a tour and tasting at a local microbrewery or distillery, throwing strikes in a local bowling alley, or enjoying a scoop of custard.
