Planning a Fun Birthday Party in Milwaukee

We love to plan a customized birthday party for a milestone year! Through the years we get to know our clients who become repeat tour attendees. One of our regular tour attendees, Carrie, has been on five tours with Milwaukee Food & City Tours, and we were thrilled when her niece, Megan, asked for our help to make her 50th birthday celebration one she would never forget.

A fan of all things Prince, our signature green bus pulled up piping out tunes by her favorite artist to kick the party into high gear. Upon arrival at our first stop, Carrie and her friends and family were treated to a custom created doughnut cake from Cranky Al’s in Wauwatosa.

There were a total of five different stops on Carrie’s birthday tour – each personalized specially for her! The group favorite was a private class at Square One Art Glass on Vliet Street. The group experienced a basics of glassblowing session and were able to pick custom colors to make their very own glass blown ornament.

“Thank you so much for an amazing experience that gave us all some pretty great memories. My favorite part of the birthday tour was the glass blowing. Blown glass is something we collect whenever we travel and being able to make our own with our family members was fun and meant so much to me.”

On the bus throughout the day, our tour guide hosted Carrie-specific trivia!Megan created a quiz that posed silly questions such as, “How many cars did Carrie total in high school?”, and memorable ones like, “Who was Carrie’s childhood best friend?” Prizes were awarded for the correct answers, and all were Carrie-themed! Megan curated some of her favorite candy and other Carrie memorabilia were shared with her friends and family as prizes.

The group enjoyed some of our favorite hidden gems that Carrie has discovered while on previous tours with Milwaukee Food & City Tours. This included stopping for the giant 26” pepperoni pizza at Classic Slice Pizzeria that is featured weekly on our Pizza Bus tour, and stopping at El Canaveral, for fajitas estilio made with chicken, chorizo, steak, peppers, onions and tomatoes. These delicious fajitas are a fan favorite when featured on our Tacos & Tequila tour, along with a Tequila Sunrise.

Carrie has a special place in her heart for rescue animals and requested a very special stop. At the Wisconsin Humane Society we arranged for a private tour and donation on behalf of the group. The visit was complete with a walk-through of the wildlife rehab center, viewing of the nursery, and seeing the vet clinic. We ended our time in the adoption area and meet some of the animals. Who could resist the adorable eyes and snuggles of a dog? Megan’s aunt and uncle who were also on the tour returned the next day and adopted a puppy – what a beautiful way to commemorate this milestone birthday!

Our final stop of the was at Indulgence Chocolatiers for a wine and truffle pairing. A sweet ending to an absolutely amazing day!

Carrie continues to be hooked on Milwaukee Food & City Tours and the work that we do to help make memories for our tour attendees. She shared,

“Celebrating my 50th birthday with Milwaukee Food & City Tours was the perfect way to celebrate my favorite things, foods and drinks. Jean was the perfect guide and the day was perfectly planned and executed!  Letting Milwaukee Food & City Tours run plan and execute our celebration made this the most stress-free party ever!  I can’t wait to take our next tour!”

We were so excited when we are asked to plan a special birthday outing in Milwaukee and can’t wait to personalize your tour with special moments around your favorite things.
