Milwaukee Food & City Tours is delighted to announce a fleet of busses to its tour company, resulting in greater tour offerings throughout the year, along with a slight name rebranding to better reflect both its food and city tour options. Owners Theresa Nemetz, along with her husband Wade, noted, “Our guests especially love the door-to-door service of our bus tours, removing the hassle of driving and parking. As tourism has increased in Milwaukee, we saw the demand for increased availability of our bus and sightseeing tours throughout the year as well.”
Milwaukee Food & City Tours is a woman-owned business founded by Theresa Nemetz in 2008 that provides tours by foot and bus to promote Milwaukee’s rich immigrant history and features locally owned establishments. Working with 40+ restaurants and small business owners, we also employ 15 part-time tour guides.
Milwaukee Food & City Tours is important to Milwaukee’s local economy because we are spending money and driving return business to local establishments. In its 6th year of operation, we have contributed over $1 million to the local economy. Not only that, but it is an opportunity for both tourists and local Milwaukeeans to explore the city. Although most assume that we are solely a tourist attraction, more than half of our attendees are locals using the tour as an opportunity re-discover the city. Guests have included couples on their first date as well as those celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, friends on a night out to celebrate birthdays or just enjoy an evening together, bachelors and bachelorette capping off a weekend of fun on our Bloody Mary Brunch tour, and corporate outings enjoying private tours such as the Pizza Bus.
Ideal for locals and tourist, birthday and anniversary celebrations, corporate team-building, and educational field trips, Milwaukee Food & City Tours offers 1-mile walking neighborhood tours along Brady Street, in the Historic Third Ward, along the RiverWalk/Old World Third Street, in the Village of Wauwatosa and the historic City of Cedarburg.
Popular bus tours include Milwaukee’s Pizza Tour, Churches & Chocolates, Walker’s Point Dine Around, Ghouls & Spirits Adult Trick or Treat, and Christmas Around the World Bakery Bus. New tours include a Christmas Lights & Desserts tour, the Historic Bar Tour, and a Sightseeing City Tour with hop on/hop off service in downtown Milwaukee.
