Best Places to Propose in Milwaukee

Milwaukee provides such a stunning backdrop for any upcoming marriage proposal. Some of our favorite places for bended knee moments include:

Start Where It All Began

Pick a spot that played a significant role in your relationship. Think back to your first date or an activity that has been a key part of your relationship.

Mike planned the perfect winter anniversary getaway in Milwaukee for his unsuspecting bride-to-be, Kristin, complete with tickets to one of our signature bus tours. The Craft Brewery & Cocktails tour provided a memorable proposal backdrop for the couple who have enjoyed discovering new craft beers throughout their courtship. Take a Breath

Looking for a private moment?  How about taking in some of the beautiful outdoors on some of Milwaukee’s finest trails.  Want to see Lake Michigan? We recommend the Oak Leaf Trail in Milwaukee or heading 30 minutes north to Kohler Andre State Park.  South of Milwaukee is the picturesque Seven Bridges Park that has winding trails through the woods.  The many wooden bridges make perfect spots to appreciate love and nature.  Lastly, a short drive west takes you to the Ice Age Trail and Lapham Peak.  The lookout tower is perfect for a moment alone!

Picture Perfect

If you are getting ready to walk down the aisle, first take a stroll together down the Milwaukee Riverwalk. The three-mile pedestrian path runs along the Milwaukee River and connects you to many restaurants and pubs that are perfect for popping the question. Milwaukee’s Riverwalk is also home to the largest contemporary urban art exhibition in the world known as Sculpture MKE, with 20+ pieces of art to provide the perfect scene for your moment.

Speaking of art, Milwaukee is rapidly becoming a world-renowned center of artwork and the Milwaukee Art Museum is at the heart of it! Our InstaMKE photo walk is led by a professional photographer ready to give attendees tips on photography composition so that they can walk away with photos that are not just beautiful, but Instagram-worthy. With the tour concluding at the Milwaukee Art Museum, we’ve been witness to many on bended knee with the Milwaukee’s lakefront and the stunning Santigo Calatrava-designed building in the background.

Love is Sweet

If there is one thing that we love at Milwaukee Food & City Tours more than a great love story, it’s a delicious sweet treat! Some of our favorite stops include ethnic bakeries on our Christmas Around Milwaukee Bakery Bus, and historic custard stands on our Burger & Custard Capital of the World tour.

But the best spot to propose in Milwaukee might just be under the big dome of the Basilica of St. Josaphat, or really at any place of worship in this City of Steeples! We visit so many of these beautiful places of worship on our Churches & Chocolates tour.

Looking beyond downtown, Milwaukee’s surrounding communities are home to so many delicious restaurants. Propose on the Interurban Trail Bridge followed by a dessert crepe at Cream and Crepe in Cedarburg. Stroll through quaint Harwood Avenue in the Village of Wauwatosa – nothing screams romantic more than the pastry counter at Le Reve French Restaurant.

And whether a first date or date night, bring your sweetie to discover some of Milwaukee’s sweetest treats from our city’s best bakers and chocolate makers on a special outing perfect for Valentine’s Day called Blissful Bites & Bubbles.
